Where Are We Going?
We look forward to visiting Sea Center Texas, dining at Wurst Haus, and touring the Lake Jackson Historical Museum.
Sea Center Texas
Our first stop will be at Sea Center Texas is a marine aquarium, fish hatchery and education center located on 75 acres in Lake Jackson, Texas. It is operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in partnership with the Coastal Conservation Association, The Dow Chemical Company and US Fish and Wildlife Service Sportfish Restoration Funds. The facility opened in 1996 and includes a visitor center with aquaria and exhibits of Texas marine life, the largest redfish hatchery in the world, 36 one-acre fish culture ponds, an outdoor wetland exhibit and a youth fishing pond.

*Unfortunately, none of the buses with the wheelchair/scooter lift are available for this excursion. We cannot accommodate trip goers needing to use wheelchairs or scooters.
Wurst Haus
Bernie and Marlice Bushbom opened Wurst Haus (102 This Way Street/ Lake Jackson, TX 77566) in 1980, a noted restaurant which serves up German/American Cuisine with freshly made dishes daily.

Lake Jackson Historical Museum
The Lake Jackson Historical Museum presents permanent and rotating exhibits that highlight major eras and influential figures of Lake Jackson history. From the Indigenous Karankawa people who lived on this land for thousands of years to the Dow Chemical Company workers who made Lake Jackson home during World War II, there is something for everyone to learn here.

Our Registration Policy
- Registration is required! Anyone who is at least 55 years of age may call 832-927-5420 and ask for the Adult Services/Reference Department to register during library business hours - Wednesday, April 09 at 10 AM through Saturday, April 12 at 5 PM.
- Email registration NOT accepted.
- Please notify library staff at the time of registration if language translation service is needed.
- You may choose to register with one companion (aged 55 or better) to accompany you on the trip.
- If you register someone besides yourself, you must provide all the trip buddy's information. Email address provided must be one per household.
- The registration period closes at the end of business Saturday, April 12 (5 pm). If necessary, names will be chosen at random the week following the close of the registration period.
- People not chosen in our drawing will be put on a waiting list.
- Participants in this Senior Adult Trips Program are responsible for paying for their own meals AND any souvenirs they may choose to purchase.
- This trip will depart from and return to the Harris County Public Library - Freeman Branch front porch.
- Participants must remain with the group while on the trip itself.
- Trip itinerary can only be modified by trip directors.
- This trip is subject to changes and/or cancellation.
- Trip Goer Cancellation must be made by 1 PM Tuesday, May 20 to remain in good standing with our Senior Adult Trip program.
