Summer Reading Program
Sharing her love of fiber arts, Lourdes will be teaching how to do basic embroidery stitches on a stamped fabric square. All supplies will be provided.
Express Children's Theatre presents AN ART CLASS FOR KIDS WITH FRIDA KAHLO, commissioned by Rothko Chapel. Thanks to a time-bending twist, the iconic artist Frida Kahlo will travel from 1940s Mexico to lead an art class for Houston families! Materials will include crayons and colored pencils and everyone will get a chance to make self-portraits and learn about Frida in the process.
Michael Godoy, the Children’s librarian at HCPL-Octavia Fields branch and a teaching artist at the Museum of Fine Arts - Houston will be sharing his gift of drawing. He is an established artist and has shown his work at Diverse Works Art Center and Lawndale Art Center. Michael began his love of making art when he used to try to copy the comic book drawings his mother put in his lunch box when he was a kindergartener. Join in this special opportunity to learn how to draw.
The Museum of Fine Arts Houston teams up with Harris County Public Library for Art Camp! Join us at the Fairbanks Branch Library for a 4-day camp that introduces children to great art and children’s literature. The camp will end with a fun trip to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston on Friday, June 20th. This program is open to children ages 7 to 12 years old. Registration is limited. Register at the Service Desk starting May 27th.

Space is limited; tickets are required. Free tickets can be picked up for this event at the Children's Reference Desk beginning on Monday, July 7th.
Join us for our Kids' Edition of our groovy video game arcade. With retro video games setup arcade style! This program is free and recommended for elementary age children and their families.
