Have you ever wanted to learn how to bind a book or journal for your own use? Or maybe a gift for someone? In this series of classes, explore the steps of binding a book, from (digital document to) printer to shelf. Attendees will also explore the etiquette and legal issues surrounding fan fiction, personal fiction, and so on that come up around this activity.

Some classes in this series will require registration, and registrants will be restricted to age 18 and older.

Part I: Digital Text Formatting

In this initial class, we’ll explore the overall process of bookbinding, as well as the relevant legal issues surrounding it. Attendees will begin the process of converting their digital document into a body text document that is prepared for printing. They will choose fonts, create the front matter pages, and format the text.
