Step into history and explore the people, places, and events that shaped our country. The American Revolution Experience, a collaborative project of the American Battlefield Trust and the Daughters of the American Revolution is coming to Freeman Library!

The exhibition display panels and interactive kiosks use storytelling and illustration to connect visitors with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation. The exhibit will be on display at Freeman Library from April 27th through May 16th, 2026, during regular library business hours.

Community Health & Wellness Services provided by Harris County Public Health at the Fairbanks Branch Library.  Come visit the Mobile Dental Clinic for:
First visits include a dental screening.
Follow-up visits may include a dental cleaning or basic treatment.

Join us on Wednesdays at 11:00 am for Toddler Story Time! This 30-minute Story Time is designed for toddlers aged 1 to 3 years old. We meet in the children's area to share books, songs, rhymes, and more! After Story Time, the toy cabinets are opened and the children are invited to stay and play. It's a great way to meet other caregivers and give your toddler a chance to socialize. 

Siblings are always welcome. 

We meet in the children's area where the picture books and campfire rug are located. 

No registration or tickets required. 

Join us for "Mother's Day Craft," where we will create a cute homemade gift for your mom or a mom in your life!

This program is for all ages, and all materials will be provided.

Join us for an interactive story time for children of all ages! This program features songs, books, and crafts each week.

Space is limited. Please pick up your free tickets at the Children's Reference Desk the morning of the program to gain entry to Family story time.

This orientation session will introduce participants to laser cutting in the library. This orientation session is mandatory before patrons can schedule time to use the laser cutter.

Experience the sights and sounds of traditional Japanese Taiko drums and modern instruments to create a cultural thunderstorm of rhythm and energy!  Brought to you by Kaminari Taiko, a drum ensemble based here in Houston and the Friends of the Fairbanks Library.  Come feel inspired as we celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage month at Fairbanks!
