Bring your early readers down to read their favorite books to specially trained dogs here at the Fairbanks Library! We meet in the children's area.

Join us for Para los Niños: Building Bucks! In this workshop, children will learn about identifying and counting coins, converting coins into money bills, and learning the value of money! The workshop will include a small store where children can use their new found knowledge of currency to "purchase" small items. 

Program is recommended for children ages 4 and up. All materials provided.

Participants will enjoy hands-on craft activities that spark creativity, plus one exciting STEM program each month where kids can experiment, build, and discover through science, technology, engineering, and math.

Book Buddies is a FREE literacy program that brings child and teens together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained teen volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in K-3rd grades (Little Buddies).

Each Wednesday for 10 weeks, Big Buddies and Little Buddies will meet to read together and create positive experiences surrounding literacy. By the end of the session, we aspire that all Little Buddies will learn to love to read and form positive associations with reading.

Filled with baseball-themed magic tricks and storytelling, the show explores Satchel Paige’s extraordinary journey — from his all-star touring performances and record-setting career in the Negro Leagues to his historic induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame as the oldest rookie and oldest player in Major League Baseball.

Harris County Public Library offers a variety of free resources, including computers, printers, and access to special research websites available with your library card.
