Join us each month for our Kids Craft & STEM Days, designed especially for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Participants will enjoy hands-on craft activities that spark creativity, plus one exciting STEM program each month where kids can experiment, build, and discover through science, technology, engineering, and math.
Experience the magic of two languages at our Bilingual Storytime, specially designed for preschool and elementary-aged children. Each week features a fresh, exciting theme—from high-tech Robots to mythical Dragons. We go beyond the book with interactive games and hands-on instrument play to keep older kids engaged and moving. Join us at STEM Lab as we explore various topics in science, technology, engineering, and math! Each month kids will learn about a specific STEM topic and then complete a related experiment or activity. In April we will learn about states of matter!
This program is for children ages 8-12. Registration is required and begins one week in advance.

Book Buddies is a FREE literacy program that brings child and teens together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained teen volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in K-3rd grades (Little Buddies).
Each Wednesday for 10 weeks, Big Buddies and Little Buddies will meet to read together and create positive experiences surrounding literacy. By the end of the session, we aspire that all Little Buddies will learn to love to read and form positive associations with reading.

Come ready to move and dance for the Move and Read Aloud Program brought to the JC Library by the Houston Ballet! Dance to Learn is a movement integration program that approaches academic curriculum from a kinesthetic perspective. A storytime format, but with LOTS more movement and dancing!
