Learn how to book time with the Kingwood Library’s Singer Sewing Machine! This orientation session will introduce participants to sewing machine operation. Those who complete the class will be able to request time to use a sewing machine at HCPL branches. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a sewing machine.

Please note that this is not a sewing instruction class. Participants will learn basic machine operation only.

This program is a wonderful way to promote early literacy, social skills, and kindergarten readiness skills!

For one night only, the library is converted to the ultimate laser tag playground! The winning team will earn a Laser Cut trophy. Laser blasters and snacks will be provided. 

This program is for teens ages 13-18.

Read Against the Machine! is a nonfiction book club exploring social, cultural, historical, and political topics. Selections highlight varied perspectives and encourage readers to think critically about the ideas and narratives that shape contemporary life.

In May, we are reading Farewell to Manzanar by Jeanne Makatsuki Houston.

"During World War II the incarceration camp called Manzanar was hastily created in the high mountain desert country of California, east of the Sierras. Its purpose? To house thousands of Japanese Americans.
