Teen Volunteer Application Distribution Week @WUBL

Teens! Need service hours? Wanting to support and show up for the community? Pick up your volunteer application packet the last week of every month to attend the volunteer orientation.

Apply to be a volunteer at the library this summer, and help support the community for Summer Reading Program at the HCPL-West U. Branch Library!


Overview

Swing by the library and pick up a volunteer application packet to volunteer and earn service hours this summer. 

Applications 
     Available for pick up at the main desk the 
last week of every month and must be completed prior to attending an orientation. Incomplete or last-minute applications may be ineligible to attend an orientation session.

Orientations
     Held the first Wednesday of every month. Having a completed application packet is the ticket to attend an orientation. Volunteers only need attend one orientation session to be eligible for signing up for volunteer shifts.

If you are a minor, i.e. under 18 years of age, you will need parental permission and signatures to complete the packet. 

An application packet must be complete, intact, and ready for the month in order to be eligible for attending the mandatory orientation (separate event date).

Registration Instructions
  1. Stop by the library and pick up a volunteer application packet, and complete it at home with your parent(s) or guardian(s)
  2. Complete the application packet in preparation for attending an orientation session (1st Wednesday of every month).  
    1. A completed, intact, ready application acts as your tickets to the orientation session.
    2. Illegible, or unreadable, applications will not be considered and turned away from the orientation.
    3. Incomplete application packets, e.g. missing signatures or contact information, will not be considered and turned away from the orientation.
  3. Parents/guardians must attend the mandatory orientation for transparency, troubleshooting, and helping set up shift sign-up system.
  4. Accepted candidates will not need to reapply to volunteer each month.

Volunteer application process/calendar events will occur monthly. If a deadline is missed or candidate is not selected, they are encouraged to reapply for next month's application cycle.
