This FREE Art Camp is a program in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH) that has been available at HCPL branches since Summer 2000. This program is made available to us for free, thanks to grants that the MFAH receives.
Join us for Let's Build It! this summer. The library will provide the Legos, Duplos, Magna-Tiles, Lincoln Logs, Big Blue Blocks, Straw Connectors and more. We will have free play and organized team challenges.
All materials must stay at the library, but you are welcome to photograph your creations. Please leave your own Legos and other building toys at home. We don't want you to lose your favorite pieces!
This program is intended for children aged 5-12 years old.

In the bustling town of Roarsville, every dinosaur gets to shine in the annual Dino Day Talent Show—except for Shy-a-saurus Rex, a timid young T-Rex with stage fright and a soft voice that barely makes a squeak. Though she has a big imagination and a heart full of dreams, Shy-a-saurus is too nervous to share her talents.

With this program six library branches per year take advantage of week-long summer art camp in which teachers from the prestigious MFAH Glassell school for the Arts come in to teach kids ages 6-12 art classes (10am – 12pm) for four days in the selected week (Mon-Thurs) culminating in a free field trip on Friday (bus provided) to the museum!
