Bring your creativity to life with this after-school craft program. Try your hand at a new craft each week and take home a masterpiece!
Recommended for school-age children ages 5-12.
Tickets are required for all programs unless otherwise noted. They are free and available starting 30 minutes before the program begins at the Children’s Information Desk. Tickets are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The team offers beginner friendly computer lessons designed for older adults, those new to computers, and those who would just like a refresher and would like to brush up on their computer knowledge.
This six week workshop will cover computer basics in the following modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Computers – What a computer is, its parts, and how it works
This program is recommended for children 18 months to 3 years old and their parents or caregivers. It features books, songs, fingerplays, music, and movement.
Tickets are required for all programs unless otherwise noted. They are free and available thirty minutes before the program begins in the Children's Department. Tickets are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Lines for the tickets sometimes form before the tickets are distributed. Tickets can run out very quickly, so please plan accordingly.
If you knit, crochet or do any other form of needlecraft please join us for the Freeman Needlecrafters. While attendees are happy to help others through the difficult parts of a project, this club is not intended as a class for instruction.

Calling all genealogists! We’ll be hosting an open lab for FamilySearch, a free, online resource for genealogy/family history research on Friday, October 02 at 4:15 PM in our upstairs Computer Lab.
HCPL has partnered with Oldways to present classes on how to eat healthy by following a traditional Latin American diet!
This program will feature two dishes rich in herbs, spices, and tubers. Those dishes are:
- Porotos Granados (Cranberry Bean Stew)
- Sikil Pak (Mayan Pumpkin Seed Dip)
Library staff will give a presentation on the dishes and prepare them for everyone to share!
This event will be held in the Children's Activity Space.
Insomnia is a common condition that makes it difficult for people to fall asleep or stay asleep. Poor quality sleep often leads people to feel tired, upset, and experience difficulty concentrating. During this session, we will learn about the different types of and causes of insomnia and simple practices that can increase the likelihood of greater quality sleep.
