Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library

Recommended for children 3 to 5 years old. This program is designed for children who are ready to sit and listen to stories in addition to enjoying songs, fingerplays, and action rhymes.

Tickets are required for all programs, unless otherwise noted. They are free and available at 10:00 am when the library opens at the Children's Reference Desk. Tickets are limited and offered on a first come first served basis. Lines for the tickets sometimes form before the tickets are distributed. Tickets can run out very quickly so please plan accordingly.

Pizza & Politics is an interactive, nonpartisan civic education program that gives you the tools to become an informed, confident voter.

Open to all adults, you'll learn how to:

- Find & understand your ballot

- Understand the roles of elected officials

- Research candidates using credible resources

- Distinguish facts from misinformation

Explore the game of chess by learning about openings, endgames, strategies, and tactics. This class is designed for children ages 5 and up, accommodating both beginners and advanced players.

Free tickets will be distributed 30 minutes before the program at the Children's Reference Desk.

This is a writers' club meant for all writers to learn more about the art, share their work, and learn from other writers about their work process, publishing, and writing journey.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a brief excerpt from any Work In Progress (WIPs) or other material they are willing to share. At your discretion, you may bring handouts with the material printed on it.

Writers of all levels are welcomed, including people just wanting to learn more!

Calling all genealogists! We’ll be hosting an open lab for FamilySearch, a free, online resource for genealogy/family history research on Friday, October 16 at 4:15 PM in our upstairs Computer Lab.

We will host our next crafting event on Thursday, October 15 at 10:15 AM in the upstairs Conference Room. With guidance, participants will make their own jumbo paper clip bookmark. Materials will be provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.
