Join us for songs, stories, and crafts during Preschool Story Time! This activity will take place in the Children's Room. Recommended for children ages 3 to 6.
Developed by the Arthritis Foundation, this program has been proven to help people with arthritis engage in walking, stretching, and strengthening exercises to reduce pain, increase balance and strength, and build confidence in their ability to be physically active.
This program is available for people 60 years of age and older with arthritis.

Using just salt, glue, and watercolors, kids will create a spooky, kooky, one-of-a-kind work of art! This program is designed for kids in grades K-5.
Harris County Public Library's Book Buddies is a FREE literacy program that pairs trained teen volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in K-3rd grade (Little Buddies) for 10 weeks to share the joy of reading. More information can be found on our website.
The next session for the South Houston Branch Library will run from September 8 - November 10, 2026. The Buddies will meet on Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM.
Play, Learn, and Grow Together!
From October 13 through November 10, our regular Family Storytime will be replaced by the Play & Learn! Family Place Workshop. Family Storytime will return on November 17.
Join us for this special 5-week parent-child workshop designed to support early childhood development while strengthening the bond between children and their caregivers. Children ages 1–3 will enjoy hands-on play with toys and activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and learning.
Join us for in-person, advanced English Conversational classes! These classes will meet on Monday evenings from 6:30 pm- 7:30 pm and Saturday mornings from 11 am- 12pm.Come build speaking confidence, overcome the fear of making mistakes, and improve real-time pronunciation in a low-pressure setting.
*Registration and examination is required. To register, please come to our branch to fill out the registration form and to complete a 25-question English test, to ensure this is the right level for you.
Fall is in the air, and it's time to indulge in everyone's favorite seasonal flavor! Sample a variety of pumpkin spice-inspired snacks, sweets, and beverages. Share your opinions, rate your favorites, and discover new seasonal treats!
For adults ages 18 and up. Registration is required. If you have not checked in within 10 minutes of the program start time, your spot can be released.
Teen Book Club has transformed into Read It and Eat! It's a book club with a twist--during book club, you create something yummy based on this month's theme and then feast. This month, the theme is Scary Books and Banned Books. Chat about your favorite books while making Terrifying Treats!
Readers of manga, graphic novels, books, and audiobooks are welcome! Even if you haven't read anything new lately, you can still join us! This program is for readers ages 13-18.
