In collaboration with the Jacinto City Library, the Healthy Start is a dynamic affiliate program for parents in Harris County Public Health. The program strives to reduce infant mortality rates in Harris County and reduce health disparities by providing comprehensive, community-driven care and support to high-risk populations.

For the month of April, we will combine our toddler story time with our Family Place Parent Child Workshop! Each week we will introduce an early childhood topic with a story and fingerplay. A community expert in each topic will be on hand for one-on-one time with parents while the children will have extra toys and playtime. Topics include: Early Literacy, Nutrition, Developmental Milestones, Speech and Language Development, and Movement. Check with the Crosby Library for the schedule and list of community experts.
Join with other preschoolers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Preschool Story Time uses age appropriate stories, songs and finger plays, and a take-home craft to engage preschoolers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards kids ages 3-5 years.
Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Children must have a ticket to attend Preschool Story Time.

Spring into a new hobby! In this program you will learn about a new hobby every week such as gardening or jewelry making, and get a chance to try out! The goal of this program is to spark a child's interest in learning a new hobby. This program is for children in Kindergarten- 5th grade.

Learn how to book time with the Kingwood Library’s Cricut! This orientation session will introduce participants to using the Cricut in the library. Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use a Cricut at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a Cricut.
This event is open to those ages 13 and older. Teens ages 13-16 must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
Join us for an interactive early literacy experience for toddlers and their caregivers. This program is geared toward toddlers ages 18 months-3 years old and features songs, books, and crafts each week!
Join us for an English-Spanish bilingual Toddler Time on the last Thursday of every month!
