Harris County Public Library’s Book Buddies is a FREE, fun-filled literacy program that pairs enthusiastic, trained teen volunteers (our amazing Big Buddies) with younger readers (Little Buddies) for 10 weeks of reading adventures!

This program is for kids ages 6-9.
Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Information Desk starting 15 minutes prior.
Tickets will not be available 10 minutes after any program has started.
A virtual tour around the world! Join us every second Tuesday of the month as we learn about the cultural practices, celebrations, food, animals, language, and geography of specific countries through discussion and hands-on activities. In October, we'll be exploring Romania!

Join us on Saturday, September 27 at 1 PM, as we host a special celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at the library. The afternoon will begin with pan dulce (traditional Mexican sweet bread) and coffee, followed by an incredible live performance from Mariachi Calmecac at 1:30 PM. To top it all off, we’ll have a giveaway at the end of the program—so you’ll definitely want to stay until the very end! 🎶
