The Next Chapter Feature Film Series returns for 2026 on Thursday, February 26 at 10:15 AM in the Innovation Lab Classroom. We look forward to showing Hidden Figures (2016), a biographical drama about three female African-American mathematicians providing crucial calculations for NASA's space race against the Soviets, all while dealing with the racist and sexist assumptions of their white co-workers. This film stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, Kirsten Dunst, and Jim Parsons. Rated PG, Hidden Figures lasts 2 hours, 7 minutes. This film includes Closed Captioning.
The Next Chapter is an in-person event for adults of all ages where we offer informative and entertaining presentations by staff, the Friends of Freeman Library, and local partners.
