Explore the game of chess and learn about openings, endgames, strategy, and tactics.  This class is designed for children ages 5 and up who want to acquire lifelong skills through Chess.

Tickets are required for all programs unless otherwise noted. They are free and available starting 30 minutes before the program begins at the Children’s Information Desk. Tickets are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Adults – we welcome you to join us in the upstairs Innovation Lab Classroom on Thursday, February 12 at 10:15 AM to the Next Chapter’s first presentation in the Lone Star Flight Museum Lecture Series. Brad Adams looks forward to presenting “Bessie Coleman: Our Country's First African American & Female Pilot.” This free event requires no registration. Light refreshments provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

Have you ever been curious about those colorful clothes, with many patterns and symbols, coming from Africa?

Join us for an hour workshop in our downstairs meeting room where we will discuss it's importance and end the workshop with a drawing of our own and talk about it's meaning!

This is a drop in program so please do not feel the need to stay the entire time.
