Join us for a kid-friendly presentation by an insect expert from the Houston Museum of Natural Science. 
Learn about Earth’s most abundant forms of life and their marvelous characteristics. 

Note: Audience capacity is limited to 40 people per show. Therefore, we will have 2 shows: one at 2 pm and one at 3:00 pm. Sign up for your show preference at the front desk or by calling the Crosby Library at 832-927-7790. Seats at the 2 pm show will be released at 2:05 pm for no-shows.

Learn more about the wildlife that comes out at night - more specifically, owls! A ranger will walk kids through an owl pellet dissection where you will learn first-hand the biology behind these magnificent creatures and how they fit into the food web of the forest.

Stella loves throwing a party! She’ll bring under the sea games, songs and dances up to the kids on land to show them how merfolk party! Join us on Thursday, June 5th at 3:00 pm for Norola Morgan's Motion in the Ocean: A Seaside Celebration. 

Norola Morgan is a mixed-media artist, performer, and teaching artist living in Houston, Texas. 

This is one of our Thursday Summer Fun Kids Events at the Fairbanks Library. It is designed for elementary school-aged children and their families.

Books Alive adapts children's literature into fully staged original 45-minute musicals, carefully honoring the author’s message and encouraging students to develop a love of books while often providing their first opportunity to see live theater. Crafted and performed by a professional troupe, productions are big & engaging, fun & entertaining for all ages. Our Summer 2025 production is an adaptation of Three Nasty Gnarlies.

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Join us for a special story time where we read a science themed story, then try hands-on science stations around the room. The science stations this month are provided by the Houston Children's Museum, so families will earn a free pass for up to 6 people to the museum for filling out a simple survey at the end of the program!
