Join us for a fun-filled outing day provided in conjunction with the Harris County Precinct 3 Bus Program.
This month trip starts a little bit later than usual -- we will not be departing the library until 10 a.m, so you can sleep in, have an extra cup of coffee, take your time getting here, or perhaps come and check out a few books for your Summer Reading before we head out!!
Our first stop will be Lunch at Treebeards, a Houston comfort food icon. Come hungry, we hear the "Red Beans and Rice" with sausage is fabulous (as is everything on the menu), and the setting inside the Cathedral grounds is lovely. Treebeards at the Cloister Menu
Next, we're going to the San Jacinto Monument and Museum. For the $10 entry fee, we will view the Special Exhibits: "Texas Blades" and "After the Battle", the Museum Permanent Exhibit Hall, "Texas Forever!!" movie in the Jesse H. Jones Theatre, ascend to the Observation Floor and view the outside artwork of the monument itself. A great trip to visit where Texas won its independence, the battle called "The 18 Minutes That Changed The World".

Last, we'll cool off our afternoon with a quick stop at Menchi's for FroYo. Menchie's Frozen Yogurt at Vintage. We will return to the library around 5:30 p.m.
