PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT WILL NOW BE STARTING AT 3:30 PM!

The new book A School Play, by Troy Scheid with illustrations by Cornelia Li, is a children's picture book about creating your own play - and it's also a ready-to-act script! In these 1-hour workshops, kids will learn warm-ups for your voice, body, and imagination - and then jump straight in to acting out the play! Finally, they will learn a theatre game that teaches them to create everything they need to perform their own plays - no experience necessary. Ideal for kids aged 7-10 and their families. A School Play and its public presentations are supported in part by a grant from the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.

Author Troy Scheid is the founder of Houston's award-winning theatre for kids and their grown-ups, Brave Little Company (BLC). BLC is known for creating multi-lingual works that tour around Houston and Texas, and for THE BIG "US" PROJECT, a collaborative theatre piece created by 100 members of Houston's refugee communities.
