Do you knit/crochet/craft? Please join us for our weekly meeting of the Knotty and Nice Club. We meet for 2 hours and socialize while working on our own projects or community charity projects. Please note that this is not a class but people are always available to help you if you need a LITTLE help. If you have never knitted or crocheted, the library offers many books and a few DVDs to learn. You can find many helpful videos on YouTube as well.

Learn about 3D printing, including how 3D printers work, and how to create your own custom designs. Participants will earn a badge and be able to reserve future appointments to use a 3D printer at HCPL branches.
Join us for a monthly event designed to help reluctant or shy readers gain confidence, with the help of some very good dogs. Paws for Therapy will provide trained therapy dogs, ready to help your child practice their reading! Each participant will get 10 minutes to read a book of their choice to a friendly, non-judgmental dog. It’s guaranteed to be a doggone good time.

We are going to paint our own pictures inspired by the portraits of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama by the artists Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald.
Participants are asked to bring a black-and-white photo of someone they would like to paint using the techniques of Wiley and Sherald.

Classes are free and all materials are provided. Pre-registration is required before anyone can attend. Our Literacy Coordinator will help determine the right class for you and check to see if there are any open spaces available.

Available only on Mondays and Fridays from 10AM to 2PM.
You will need to bring:
the completed AARP tax packet (available at the library), a driver's license/state ID, social security card, and any relevant tax information/forms.This program is first come, first serve for walk-ins.
This year AARP will also offer appointments. Appointments can be made over the phone or in-person.
