Join us for some innovative fun as we experiment with Makey Makey kits to make music with fruit!
This program is for children ages 7-10. Registration is required and begins one week in advance.

Join us for our weekly homeschool meet up, where kids can engage in STEAM activities such as building challenges, fiber art crafts, science experiments, process art, games, and more, all while having fun and socializing. Parents/caregivers are welcome to join each other in the library for an informational session and networking.
*Recommended for children ages 5-11, under 5 must have an accompanying adult.
Summer Edition of Discovery Time with Miss Christine
When: Tuesdays @ 11:30 am
Learn from docents from the Houston Museum of Natural Science about how living organisms are transformed into fossils and discover what fossils reveal about prehistoric life. Participation is limited to 40 people, so be sure and sign up at the front desk to reserve your spot! Once you have signed up, please check in within 10 minutes of the program start time. If you have not checked in within 10 minutes of the program start time, your spot can be released.
Have fun uncovering artifacts like an archaeologist by carefully excavating chocolate chips from a cookie while using an excavation grid. While performing this activity, you will also learn about the tools and terms used by archaeologists on a dig.
Join us for an interactive presentation by Sheldon Lake State Park Interpreter, Stahr Seck. Learn about behavioral and physical adaptations of alligators and what to do if you happen to meet one at our closest State Park! This program is fun and educational for children of all ages.
Join us for an afternoon of crafts, STEM activities, movies, and more. Kid's Corner is a creative space for elementary-aged students to hang out, learn something new, and have fun.
Registration is not required.

Join us every first Thursday of the month from 4:30-5:30pm for Lego Club here at the Fairbanks Branch Library! We will have Legos, mega blocks and magna tiles to build with. Come have fun! This program is for ages 6-11 but siblings are always welcome. We will meet inside the meeting room.
