Unleash your creativity! Join us in the Fairbanks Library meeting room on Thursday, December 18 from 4:30-5:30 pm for a popsicle stick nutcracker painting workshop — fun, festive, and perfect for all ages! A Young Audiences of Houston teaching artist will help participants to design and decorate their own nutcracker ornaments to take home, learning simple painting techniques along the way. Makes a great gift!

Join us for Classical Sing Move Play: The Music of The Nutcracker! This engaging class offers children an exciting introduction to melody, rhythm, instrument play, and movement, all set to music from beloved operas, ballets, symphonies, and folk songs. In this special session, trained opera singers will guide young participants through some of the most memorable melodies from Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballet, The Nutcracker.

Welcome to the wonderful and exciting world of screen printing!

Young Audiences of Houston teaching artist Danny Russo introduces participants to a versatile printing process utilized by visual artists worldwide. The printing technique allows participants to quickly and easily make multiple images of original art. Countless ink and paper color choices are possible; participants will be amazed by how quickly and easily they learn to make stunning prints.

*Intended for ages 5-11, but all ages welcome! Family Program!

Join us for an hour of "screen-free" time and play board games as a family! Snacks and juice will be provided. For ages 6-11 but younger siblings and parents are welcome to play. Join us in the meeting room!

Join us for our Tween Book Club! We will discuss the book of the month, have snacks, and enjoy book related activities. This month we will be reading "Hummingbird" by Natalie Lloyd. On Friday, December 5th we will discuss chapters 1-17 and on Friday, December 19th we will discuss chapter 18 through the end of the book.
