Harris County Universal Services' mission is to empower residents with the skills and confidence they need to use technology safely and effectively.

The team offers beginner friendly computer lessons designed for older adults, those new to computers, and those who would just like a refresher and would like to brush up on their computer knowledge.

This six week workshop will cover computer basics in the following modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Computers – What a computer is, its parts, and how it works

Whether you've never touched a tile in your life or you've played all kinds of versions, come play American Mah-jongg with us! There will be a table for complete beginners and there will be a table for open play. If you already have a set and you just want to play with people, there will be open tables to play on. All supplies and snacks will be provided. This program is intended for adults 18+.

Start learning English for free at the library! This is an introductory English class for complete beginners.

Class is once a week on Wednesdays from 1 - 2:30 p.m.It is an 8 week session from April 1st to May 20th, 2026Registration is required in order to attend.

To register, visit us on a registration date to take a placement exam and confirm your spot in a class.

Join us for an engaging book discussion, coffee, tea, & treats!

Books are selected during our annual book club poll, each fall. Registered participants will receive a link to nominate their picks, and to vote on the final selections. Printed book lists & monthly discussion guides are available at meetings, and at the front desk. Participants can place their own hold requests for copies of the books, or ask for their books to be requested in advance, during the annual survey.
