Join us for intermediate-level Spanish! This class is designed for patrons who are somewhat familiar with the Spanish language, but not at an advanced level. This class is taught by our amazing tutor, Naheily!

Join us for advanced Spanish! This class is designed for patrons who are already familiar with Spanish and would deem themselves to be at an advanced level. This class will meet on Monday afternoons from 2 PM- 3PM. It is a free class taught by our amazing tutor, Naheily.

Join us for Beginner Spanish! This class will meet on Fridays from 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM. This class is free and is taught by our amazing volunteer tutor, Naheily. 

Start the new year with healthy cooking habits! All adults, join us on Monday, January 12, at 2 PM, for Cooking Matters. We will have hands-on activities and a cooking demo that will improve skills in planning and preparing healthy and tasty meals. This program is presented by Harris County Public Health. Registration is required.

This class is designed for students who are interested in learning and /or practicing speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills in English. Classes are free and all materials are provided.

To register for the class, you must take an in-person placement exam.

Learn how to bring the flavors of African cuisine into your kitchen with this cooking program featuring jollof rice and spiced chickpeas. Participants will learn about the cultural history and nutritional value of these dishes while watching a live cooking demonstration using simple techniques and accessible ingredients. Enjoy samples, join the discussion, and leave with practical tips and recipes to try at home.

Ready to get creative? Join us for Make It Happen, a hands-on craft class where you’ll design your own custom portfolio using our Cricut! We'll kick things off with a quick Cricut Orientation and a Canva demo—no tech skills or devices needed. Just bring your imagination, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Learn about 3D printing, including how 3D printers work, and how to create your own custom designs. Participants will earn a badge and be able to reserve future appointments to use a 3D printer at HCPL branches.

Just in time for these cold winter nights (and the Super Bowl) adults 18+ are invited to learn to make chili (from scratch). There will be a vegetarian option. Please let us know through email (sm@hcpl.net) if you would like to use that option so we can supply the correct ingredients.
