Read Against the Machine is a nonfiction book club exploring social, cultural, historical, and political topics. Selections highlight varied perspectives and encourage readers to think critically about the ideas and narratives that shape contemporary life.

A.M.I.G.O.S. (Amigos Meeting Intended Goals of South Houston) Friends of the South Houston Library is a nonprofit 501 c3 volunteer group that meets once a month. Texas Sized Pride for America's 250th - Preserving our Heritage: Step into history and discover the people, places, and events that shaped our nation. Through engaging storytelling and vivid illustrations, the exhibit’s display panels and interactive kiosks bring to life the stories behind our country’s founding.
The exhibit will be on display at the Katy Library for the entire month of July, during regular library business hours.
This exhibit is sponsored by the Sam Houston Chapter, Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
Do you knit/crochet/craft? Please join us for our weekly meeting of the Knotty and Nice Club. We meet for 2 hours and socialize while working on our own projects or community charity projects. Please note that this is not a class but people are always available to help you if you need a LITTLE help. If you have never knitted or crocheted, the library offers many books and a few DVDs to learn. You can find many helpful videos on YouTube as well.
