Turn the classic origami paper fortune teller into a poetic flower! After folding the paper into a fortune teller, we will write words and phrases on the petals. Then we'll pick random flowers and use the words on the petals to create poems. 

This program is intended for ages 8-12.

Teens ages 12-18 can register to play the popular roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons at the Spring Branch-Memorial Branch Library (930 Corbindale Rd. Houston, TX 77024)! All supplies will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own dice and character!

Teens ages 13-18 can join us at the Spring Branch-Memorial Branch Library once a month to earn an hour of volunteer credit by doing a project for a local community organization! In April, we will be assisting the library.

Join us at the Spring Branch-Memorial Branch Library on Wednesday, April 8th from 2pm-4pm for a Homeschool Hangout! Code Ninjas will present a program where students will explore LEGO robotics by building & programming moving robots using motors & sensors, while also learning MakeCode to bring their creations to life through hands-on coding.

This program is for ages 6-18. All equipment will be provided.

Registration is required. Registration will open on March 25th.

Join Spring Branch-Memorial Library’s Tween & Teen Chess Club!

Anyone ages 8-18 can join us.

Chess club is usually on the 1st Thursday of each month at 4:30pm, but because of the spring holiday, we will be moving it to the first Tuesday in April, April 7th!

Join us for a monthly event designed to help reluctant or shy readers gain confidence, with the help of some very good dogs. Paws for Therapy will provide trained therapy dogs, ready to help your child practice their reading! Each participant will get 10 minutes to read a book of their choice to a friendly, non-judgmental dog. It’s guaranteed to be a doggone good time.

Reserve your spot the day of the event by selecting a time slot on our sign-up sheet 30 minutes prior to the program.

Join us to create your own paper doll of a fierce woman from history. You will have the choice to choose from icons such as Amanda Gorman, Bessie Coleman, Malala Yousafzai, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Amelia Earhart and more. Some of these fierce women paper dolls may also feature accessories. Let your creativity soar while learning about great women trailblazers. 

This program is geared for ages 6 and up. (must be able to independently handle scissors)
