This orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing services in the library. Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use a 3D printer at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a 3D printer.

This event is open to those ages 13 and older. Registration is required.

Learn how to book time with the Kingwood Library’s Glowforge Laser Cutter! This orientation session will introduce participants to laser cutting and engraving services in the library. Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use a laser cutter at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Join the Talk It Up! book club at Kingwood Library in February as we read and discuss The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison in recognition of Black History Month. 

"The Bluest Eye is Toni Morrison's first novel, a book heralded for its richness of language and boldness of vision. Set in the author's girlhood hometown of Lorain, Ohio, it tells the story of black, eleven-year-old Pecola Breedlove.

Adults who are learning English are invited to join us for E.S.L. Cafe each month at Kingwood Library!

At E.S.L. Cafe, we play tabletop games (board games, card games, & conversation games) in English. Come by for a welcoming, supportive space to practice your English & connect with others in your community.

Come when you want & stay as long as you want. All levels are welcome! Coffee & refreshments provided.

Join us for our Tween Book Club! We will discuss the book of the month, have snacks, and enjoy book related activities. This month we will be reading "Kwame Crashes the Underworld" by Craig Kofi Farmer.

On Friday, February 13th, we will discuss chapters 1-10.

On Friday, February 27th, we will discuss chapter 11 through the end of the book.

This book club is intended for children ages 8-12. Online registration is required; space is limited.

The service is first come, first serve. No registration or appointments required. Please be sure to bring the following items with you: driver’s license, Social Security Card, and any relevant tax information for everyone included on the tax return.

Spring into a new hobby! In this program you will learn about a new hobby every week such as gardening or jewelry making, and get a chance to try out! The goal of this program is to spark a child's interest in learning a new hobby. This program is for children in Kindergarten- 5th grade.
Space is limited; Please pick up your free tickets at the Children's Reference Desk every Monday at 4:00 PM
