Adults who are learning English are invited to come to E.S.L. Cafe each month at Kingwood Library!

At E.S.L.* Cafe, we play tabletop games (board games, card games, and conversation games) in English.

Join us for a welcoming, supportive space to practice your English and connect with others in your community.

Come when you want and stay as long as you want. All levels are welcome! Coffee and refreshments provided.

This workshop will help you better understand the GED process and connect you with tools and resources to prepare for success. Participants will learn about the four GED subject areas, testing requirements, study strategies, preparation resources, practice tests, and options for finding local or online GED support.

Whether you're just getting started or have already begun preparing, you'll leave with practical tips, helpful resources, and clear next steps toward earning your GED.

Finding a job today requires more than submitting applications and waiting for a response. 

This interactive workshop will help job seekers develop a more intentional approach to navigating today’s competitive job market.

Participants will learn how to expand their search beyond traditional job boards, identify employers and industries that are actively hiring, research companies before applying, use professional and community connections to uncover opportunities, and create a job-search routine that is both organized and manageable.

Join us for our Tween Book Club! We will discuss the book of the month, have snacks, and enjoy book related activities. This month we will be reading "The Smartest Kid in the Universe" by Chris Grabenstein.

On Friday, September 11th, we will discuss chapters 1-36.

On Friday, September 25th, we will discuss the rest of the book.

This book club is intended for children ages 8-12. Online registration is required; space is limited.

In this program, one person's trash is another person's craft! This is a twist on scrapbooking, in which the journaler collects junk (receipts, tags, tickets, labels, produce stickers, magazine cut-outs, or whatever other flat item), then makes art out of the items by arranging, then gluing or taping and adding other mediums (sketching, painting, writing, etc.) All materials will be provided, including scrap materials, journals and snacks. No registration is required. This program is for teens ages 13-18.

Calling all teen artists! Whatever your medium is, you're invited to hang with other artists and work on your projects. Sketch pads, art pencils, markers, paints, yarn, crochet hooks, and more will be available for those who just want to show up and create. No registration is required. Snacks will also be provided.
