Join us as the Friends of the Maud Marks Library hold their next Members-Only preview used book sale. There is a large selection of hardback fiction and nonfiction, as well as children’s books and paperbacks. All items sell for rock-bottom prices.

If you are not a member of the Friends of the Maud Marks Library, you may join at the door for $10. All proceeds will benefit the library.

This orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing services within the Harris County Public Library system. This orientation session is mandatory before patrons can schedule time to use the 3D printer.

This class is appropriate for ages 10 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

We will meet in the Innovation Lab on the 2nd Floor.

Design it, shrink it, keep it! Create custom keychains or phone charms using shrink plastic that you can draw your own design on, then watch them transform into fun, mini creations to take home.

For teens in grades 6-12. No registration required.

SPECIAL EVENT: Kaminari Taiko of Houston Overview: "Kaminari Taiko is a Japanese drumming ensemble based in Houston, Texas. We share the spirit of taiko with audiences large and small through high-energy performances that fuse traditional instruments with modern rhythms."

This is a free program for the general public.

This beginner friendly lesson will introduce participants to cross-stitching, which is a form of counted-thread embroidery using X-shaped stitches to create a pattern.

This program is limited to attendees age 5 and up. Children under age 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults must be able to help their children with the project.This program involves sharp embroidery needles and embroidery scissors.Registration is required due to limited supplies and seating.

This orientation session is mandatory before patrons can schedule time to use a vinyl cutter, Cricut machine, sublimation printer, or a heat press.

Switch 2 Play is a weekly Thursday event at 4:00 PM in the library, where people of all ages can relax and connect through popular games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart World, Just Dance, Street Fighter VI, and more! All necessary equipment—including the console, controllers, and seating—is provided for a fun and easygoing gaming experience, though feel free to bring your own controllers if you prefer!
Whether you're here to unwind, improve your skills, or make friends, Switch 2 Play offers a welcoming space to play and have fun.
