Calling all homeschooled kids! September's Library Learning will explore the fascinating worlds of psychology, geology, and chemistry—all centered around food! Through hands-on activities, experiments, and interactive lessons, children will discover how science and the natural world connect to what we eat every day. Perfect for curious minds eager to learn and explore.
Join us for a fun and friendly Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament where players of all skill levels are welcome! Whether you’re a seasoned fighter or just want to test your skills, this is your chance to show off your moves, meet fellow gamers, and compete for bragging rights (and maybe even a prize or two).Controllers and setups will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own. Spectators are encouraged—and we’ve got you covered too! Pizza and drinks will be available while supplies last. Let the best fighter win!
Book Buddies is a free program that brings children and and teen volunteers together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in Kindergarten through 3rd grades (Little Buddies). For 10 weeks, the Buddies meet once a week in the afternoon for 45 minutes of one-on-one shared reading. More information can be found on our website.
Switch 2 Play is a weekly Thursday event at 4:00 PM in the library, where people of all ages can relax and connect through popular games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart World, Just Dance, Street Fighter VI, and more! All necessary equipment—including the console, controllers, and seating—is provided for a fun and easygoing gaming experience, though feel free to bring your own controllers if you prefer!
Join us as the Friends of the Maud Marks Library hold their next used book sale. There is a large selection of hardback fiction and nonfiction, as well as children’s books and paperbacks. All items sell for rock bottom prices!
We will also be hosting a Friends Members-Only preview on Friday, September 26, from 4 PM - 5:30 PM.
