Calling all brick builders, are you up for a challenge? Teams will work to creatively complete a different build mission in an hour each month! Grades 4 to 12. Tuesday, September 9, 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
Join us for our Cricut orientation!
This orientation session will instruct participants on using the Cricut in the library. Those completing the class will then be able to schedule time to use a Cricut at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a Cricut. Attendees will receive the Cricut and Cricut Explore Air 2 badges in Beanstack upon completion of orientation.
Tweens, this craft time is for you! Hang out with friends, craft something totally original to you, and enjoy snacks and retro tunes. Grades 4 to 5, Thursday, September 4, 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
Star Wars Reads is back for 2025! Join us for an afternoon packed with activities! Learn the ways of the Force with the Mustafar Saber Guild, practice your saber skills with virtual reality, shoot down battle droids, and make your own [pool noodle] lightsaber! And last but not least...enter your name for one of our grand prizes!
The Friends of the Library will also be setting up a sale table!
All ages are welcome to join the fun! Costumes encouraged!
Bring your own project to our monthly teen fiber arts group! Come to chat and work on your current project, get ideas for new projects, and be inspired by your fellow fiber artists. Whether it’s crochet, knitting, embroidery, cross stitch, or anything in between, if you can bring it with you, you can work on it. This program is open to ages 12-17, 18 if in high school. Come watch a movie in the teen space and eat delicious snacks! Movie rotates monthly; September's movie is Into the Spiderverse (Rating: PG) to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. This program is open to ages 12-17, 18 if in high school.
