Join with other preschoolers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Preschool Story Time uses age appropriate stories, songs and finger plays, and a take-home craft to engage preschoolers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards kids ages 3-5 years.

Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Children must have a ticket to attend Preschool Story Time.

Join us on Saturday, September 27 at 1 PM, as we host a special celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at the library. The afternoon will begin with pan dulce (traditional Mexican sweet bread) and coffee, followed by an incredible live performance from Mariachi Calmecac at 1:30 PM. To top it all off, we’ll have a giveaway at the end of the program—so you’ll definitely want to stay until the very end! 🎶

This event is free and open to all ages, so gather your family and friends and save the date for a joyful celebration of culture, music, and community.

Join us at the Katy Library for Flower Hour, a preschool story time, from 11:15 am-12 pm. This event will take place on the carpet in the children's section of the library. Come dance, sing, and grow while we read books together!

Join us for Learn, Grow, Eat & Go!, a hands-on, learning adventure where kids become gardeners, taste-testers, and healthy-living champions! This 8-week fall program is packed with fun activities like planting seeds, creating a garden, and getting our bodies moving with brain boosting activities and exercises!

A teaching artist from the Houston Ballet will be here for a special Move and Read Aloud event. Dance to Learn is a movement integration program that approaches academic curriculum from a kinesthetic perspective. A storytime format, but with LOTS more movement and dancing! Recommended for children age 3-6 and their caregiver(s).

Discovery Time with Miss Christine is a fun and engaging story time for the whole family! Each week, we build early literacy skills through the five essential practices: sing, talk, read, write, and play. These simple, everyday activities support language development, spark creativity, and boost comprehension, while also laying a strong foundation for future STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

Precinct 3 will host an ELQN information table at the Dia de los Muertos celebration at the Pearl Fincher Art Museum, a central community hub located next to the Barbara Bush Library. This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with Hispanic families, including Spanish-speaking community members who may not feel as comfortable engaging at county-sponsored events.
