Magician John O’Bryant will be visiting Evelyn Meador Library, and you don’t want to miss it! His NEW Summer Reading Magic Show for 2025 is filled with amazing magic, hilarious comedy, audience participation, and more incredible surprises!
John’s high-energy shows have made him a crowd favorite at libraries across Texas and he’s been a regular featured act at SeaWorld Adventure Parks. Join us, and be part of the excitement at the library!

Bilingual Storytime for School-Age Children
Join Ms. Tina for an interactive bilingual storytime featuring stories in both English and Spanish. Children will enjoy engaging activities, songs, and dinosaur-themed stories while building language and literacy skills.
This program promotes cultural awareness and a love of reading in two languages.
There will be a brief lesson for beginners at the beginning of the session. Each class go over the following:
- How each chess pieces move
- Chess rules
- Review how to use a chess clock
- How to use notation
- How to set up the chess board
- Discuss special moves
- Describe check and checkmate
- Review chess principals
- Cover minor tactics
- Discuss end game principals
- Then members will get a chance to play each other
