Join Michael, Octavia Field Library Branch's Children's Librarian, for an hour of nursery rhymes, storytelling, arts & crafts and playtime. We'll talk, sing, write, read and play, and your prekindergarten age kiddos will have so much fun that they won't even realize they are gaining valuable pre-literacy skills. Ages 0-5.

The Houston Ballet’s Dance to Learn program brings the magic of movement to our youngest explorers, specifically tailored for children ages 3 to 5.
This creative initiative transforms early childhood milestones—like discovering science and social studies—into an active, kinesthetic adventure. By blending core curriculum with dance, the program helps preschoolers build self-expression, motor skills, and confidence, ensuring they stay engaged and energized while they learn.
Are you ready to learn more English? Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday from 1 pm - 2 pm starting February 3 and ending April 2 (no classes the week of March 14-21).
NOTE: This class takes place at BakerRipley East Aldine - Room C126

Do you knit/crochet/craft? Please join us for our weekly meeting of the Knotty and Nice Club. We meet for 2 hours and socialize while working on our own projects or community charity projects. Please note that this is not a class but people are always available to help you if you need a LITTLE help. If you have never knitted or crocheted, the library offers many books and a few DVDs to learn. You can find many helpful videos on YouTube as well.
