"Born to Read" is a weekly story time filled with stories, songs, movement, interactive elements, and sensory play to promote early literacy development for babies and toddlers.

Join us for a creative writing workshop where we will be doing exercises and prompts designed to examine the meaning of liberty in all our lives and the power of having a voice. We will then share our writing and do a collaborative poem about freedom. Copies will be made so we can take our collaborative poem home.

It will take place in the library conference room. We look forward to seeing you there!

Join Michael, Octavia Field Library Branch's Children's Librarian, for an hour of nursery rhymes, storytelling, arts & crafts and playtime. We'll talk, sing, write, read and play, and your toddler age kiddos will have so much fun that they won't even realize they are gaining valuable pre-literacy skills. Ages 0-5.

Each month, library staff with expertise in history will give a talk about different topics in American history to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. Come join us the Monday after Juneteenth to learn about and commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States.

Chat about great books with some great people! Join our Virtual Book Club, hosted by Katherine Tyra Branch Library!

We will meet virtually (via Microsoft Teams) every first Wednesday of the month from 3-4 PM to discuss the selected book. Online registration is required. You will receive an email with a meeting link the day before the event.

This month, we will be discussing Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi.

We are happy to help old and new crafters with their projects, but this is not a formal class.

Join us for our 3D Printer Orientation!

This orientation session will instruct participants on using the 3D printer in the library . Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use a 3D printer at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a 3D printer. Attendees will receive the 3D printer and Dremel 3D45 badges in Beanstack upon completion of orientation.
