Read, sing, and learn together!
Join us every Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. for this engaging storytime designed for children ages 3–5. Through stories, rhymes, songs, and playful activities, children will build important early literacy skills such as oral language, phonological awareness, and print recognition.
After storytime, children can enjoy a simple craft or coloring activity to wrap up the fun. It’s a wonderful way to support early learning while making Storytime magical at the library!
Youth grades 3 to 12, stop by the meeting room to play one of our many board or card games, including chess!
Register now for a special typing and computer skills workshop for children ages 8-11/Grades 3rd-5th! During this semester, patrons will focus on learning and practicing basic typing skills. Each session will be on the 1st Monday of each month from February 2nd- May 5th from 1:30 pm- 3:30 pm. Registration is required for this program. If you have questions before registering, please direct them to KT@HCPL.net.
Mother Goose is a gentle early-learning program that focuses on the interaction between parent(s) and their little ones. We provide developmentally appropriate opportunities such as play, sing-alongs, and rhymes. Come join the fun and meet new friends. We look forward to seeing you!

Celebrate Poetry Month at the Blackout Poetry Bash!
Students in grades 3-12 are invited to join us at the Barbara Bush Library on April 29th at 5pm for an exciting event where old text is transformed into art. Using pages from books/magazines/newspapers and markers, participants will create their own unique blackout poems by highlighting meaningful worlds and blacking out the rest. This engaging event is an amazing way to explore poetry, experiment with creativity, and connect with your community!

This class is for people who already know a little about using a computer and want to learn Microsoft Excel. Over 6 weeks, we will practice navigating the grid, formatting with color and borders, sorting lists alphabetically, and using tools to let the computer do the math for you! The class meets one hour per week and is hands-on, beginner-friendly, and focused on learning skills by doing practical but fun projects.
This club is for adults only. (This is not a class.)
