Join us live on the 2nd Friday of this month as we continue Freeman Fright-days! A show dedicated to discussing horror movies with the lurid librarians of Freeman Library!

This month we'll be discussing the body horror crime thriller, Titane (2021)! This French film follows a young woman who, after suffering a car accident as a child, develops intense feelings for automobiles, who must hide her identity after a series of killings.

This movie is rated R, so viewer discretion is advised.

We will meet virtually (via Microsoft Teams) every first Wednesday of the month from 3-4 PM to discuss the selected book. Online registration is required. You will receive an email with a meeting link the day before the event.

Join us in the children's area at Fairbanks Library on Tuesday, December 16 at 11:30 am for a special presentation of Classical Sing, Move, Play: Music of the Nutcracker! 

Classical Sing, Move, Play classes provide an introduction to melody, rhythm, instrument play time, and movement with music from famous operas and ballets to classical symphonies and folk songs. The Music of The Nutcracker class, led by trained opera singers, will explore some of the most well known tunes from Tchaikovsky's famous ballet. Children of all ages are welcome. Recommended for ages 2-5.

Unleash your creativity! Join us in the Fairbanks Library meeting room on Thursday, December 18 from 4:30-5:30 pm for a popsicle stick nutcracker painting workshop — fun, festive, and perfect for all ages! A Young Audiences of Houston teaching artist will help participants to design and decorate their own nutcracker ornaments to take home, learning simple painting techniques along the way. Makes a great gift!

Join with other babies and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Baby Storytime uses songs, age appropriate stories, and playtime to engage both babies and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards newborns through 18 months.
