The Islamic Arts Society celebrates the beauty of Islamic art and its ability to bring people from different cultures together. At the upcoming 13th Annual Islamic Arts Festival, visitors of all backgrounds are invited to explore the many art forms and traditions of the Muslim world.

On November 14, local artist and Islamic Arts Society member, Shaheen Rahman will share the art of Ebru, an ancient Turkish paper marbling technique. Through a live demonstration, she will use special tools and create delicate patterns and floral designs on the surface of water before carefully transferring them onto paper. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about this unique art form and discover the creativity and care that go into each piece.

Lunch provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.
