Event Title
Degree, Trade, or Certification: Which Path Is Right for You?

Thinking about going back to school but not sure if it’s the right decision?

Before committing your time and money to a program, it’s important to understand all of your options.

This workshop is designed to help adults explore different education, training, and career pathways based on their goals, interests, finances, and current life circumstances. Participants will compare traditional colleges and universities, community colleges, career and technical programs, professional certifications, apprenticeships, trade programs, and opportunities to enter or advance in the workforce without earning another degree.

We’ll discuss important factors to consider before enrolling, including program costs, time commitments, admission requirements, financial aid and funding options, career outlook, earning potential, and whether a particular credential is actually required for the career you want.

Participants will also learn how to research schools and training programs, compare their options, identify potential red flags, and evaluate the return on investment before making a decision.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of the pathways available to them and practical tools to help answer an important question: What is the best next step for me?
