We will host our next cooking event on Thursday, August 20 at 10:15 AM in the downstairs Meeting Room. Participants will be instructed on how to make Barbacoa, a Mexican-style, slow-roasted, seasoned beef. The food prepared will be provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

This free event requires sign-up. Registration opens Thursday, August 06 at 12 PM and closes Monday, August 17 at 8 PM. Please contact the Adult Services/Reference Desk at the library or visit our website to register. Adults must go with any child under the age of 12.

A Few Notes on Attendance

Please arrive on time. We will allow 5 minutes after the program starts before we close the door and will not allow late comers. Exceptions may be made if the program is not full. If you think you might be late, please call us at 832-927-5420 so we can confirm whether you can still participate. You are allowed 3 no shows (meaning you did not cancel your sign-up for an event) before you are no longer allowed a spot in Next Chapter registrations for certain events and will be moved to automatically to the waitlist.

The Next Chapter is an in-person event/service for adults of all ages where we offer informative and entertaining events presented by staff, the Friends of Freeman Library, and partners from our community.
