Seniors 55+ are invited to join the Maud Marks Library’s Timeless Travelers program for a trip to the Orange Show and Smither Park and tour the labyrinthine 3,000 sq. ft. monumental work of handmade architecture - built single handedly by a retired mail carrier named Jeff Davis McKissack (1902-1980). The Smither Park features permanent mosaic masterpieces. The bus will be departing on Thursday, March 19, from 9:30 AM.
Registration period is from March 2 - March 7, 2026. You can call or stop by the library anytime during the registration period. You may choose one companion to accompany you on the trip. Once the registration period has ended, if we have more people registered than we can accommodate on the bus, then we will do a random drawing of names. People not chosen in the drawing will be on a waitlist.
Timeless Travelers is a program series promoting educational and cultural enrichment for senior adults. Once a month, we will take free bus trips across southeast Texas to experience the culture and history of this great state. The only requirement is that you are old enough to attend (55+).
