Join Teaching Artist Joseph Dixon for an inclusive and engaging performance that combines storytelling and music to promote acceptance, respect, and teamwork. Participants will learn the three main parts of a story and explore the history of percussion instruments like the Djembe. At the end of the session, audience members will be invited to join in a live community drum circle using instruments from various cultures!
This program is geared towards children in 1st-5th grades.
Do you like snakes and lizards? Come meet some live reptiles up close and learn about their unique features. You will even have a chance to touch them if you want to! It's time to sing and dance with Andyroo and the Andyrooniverse at the Dinosaur Party! In this interactive concert, you'll wave your little arms like a T-Rex, run like a Velociraptor, and bop like a Triceratops while Andyroo sings his dinosaur hits from the Mesozoic Era to the modern day.
*Recommended for families with children age 3 to 8.

Join us on Monday, July 13, at 4pm for Stage Combat: Dancing with Swords, an interactive children's program presented by iACT Houston. (Ages 8-11) Students will learn to use the traditional positions of fencing to choreograph their own stage combat combination/scene! Students will practice with special safety foam swords.
This is a ticketed program, so please visit the front desk 15 minutes before the class begins. Due to the physical nature of the event, waivers will be required.
Join us for an out-of-this-world visit from Orbit, the Houston Astros’ mascot! Orbit will be swinging by Bear Creek to share his love of reading and libraries during this fun program for children.
This program will be held in the children's area of the library. No ticket required, but due to limited space, seating is on a first come, first served basis!
