Are you looking for a way to continue to improve your English skills? ESL Classes are underway at the Aldine Branch Library.

The Aldine Branch Library will be offering:

ESL - 2 (in-person)We will meet once a week on Tuesdays March 31st, 2026 - May 19th from 1pm - 2:30pm

A pre-assessment test is required. Our Literacy Coordinator will help determine the right class for you.

These courses are free of charge.

Join us for an engaging book discussion, coffee, tea, & treats!

Books are selected during our annual book club poll, each fall. Registered participants will receive a link to nominate their picks, and to vote on the final selections. Printed book lists & monthly discussion guides are available at meetings, and at the front desk. Participants can place their own hold requests for copies of the books, or ask for their books to be requested in advance, during the annual survey.

Join us for a free class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. You must complete an English placement assessment to join the class. Taking this class will not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.

A weekly Computer Class for Adult Beginners to discover and improve their skills in this increasingly high-tech age. Every week we learn by doing Word, Excel, Email, PDF, Internet Safety, Google Searches, HCPL resources and more!  Must have a library card to attend.

The Next Chapter Classics Feature Film Series continues Thursday, April 30 at 10:15 AM in our upstairs Innovation Lab Room. We look forward to showing Hamnet, the 2025 Academy Award Nominee based on the novel of the same name by Maggie O'Farrell where Agnes Shakespeare – the wife of the world's most famous writer – struggles to come to terms with the loss of her only son, Hamnet. This film stars Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Zac Wishart, James Lintern, and Joe Alwyn. Rated PG-13, Hamnet lasts 2 hours, 5 minutes.
