Summer Reading Program

There will be a brief lesson for beginners at the beginning of the session. Each class go over the following:

  1. How each chess pieces move
  2. Chess rules
  3. Review how to use a chess clock
  4. How to use notation
  5. How to set up the chess board
  6. Discuss special moves
  7. Describe check and checkmate
  8. Review chess principals
  9. Cover minor tactics
  10. Discuss end game principals
  11. Then members will get a chance to play each other

**Ages 9-17 ONLY & FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE**

Come stomp, sway and roar as we learn a fun dinosaur dance and enjoy fun dinosaur-themed activities!

This program is for kids ages 4-8 and their parent/caregiver. Registration is required and begins online one week prior.

Together Time continues in July

  • July 9, from 2 pm - 3 pm we will be making dinosaur stencil paintings.

It's going to be T-Rexcellent!

A bashful dinosaur enlists her friends and the audience to help her overcome her shyness and find her voice just in time for the annual Dino Day Talent Show. Her friend, Thunder Roar Rex discovers that he doesn't need to be loud to feel good about himself, and Bobby the beat-boxing Brontosaurus realizes that he doesn't need to have all the answers all the time. Together, they learn how to work as a team to put on a great talent show.

*Due to weather, this event will be rescheduled.* "Pop" on in for our summer bubble party! We will have multiple bubble stations and sidewalk chalk for all to use! This outdoor event is for children of all ages! 

Please remember to wear your sunscreen/bug spray and bring plenty of water!  No tickets or registration required.

Watch the cataclysmic event that lead to their extinction. Featuring animations and on-site locations of dinosaur fossils, you’ll feel like you are right there with them.

Come and join us for 45 minutes of sensory exploration and discovery! Our "Little Explorers" program is for preschool age children from 0 - 5 years old and their caregivers. Please dress to get messy! This event is free to attend and all materials will be provided. Each session requires a free ticket for kids in attendance. Tickets are available in the library on the morning of the event.


Sorry we cannot accommodate Daycare groups for this program.
