Growing Readers & Early Literacy
Experience the magic of two languages at our Bilingual Storytime, specially designed for children ages 5 to 8 years old. Each week features a fresh, exciting theme—from high-tech Robots to mythical Dragons. We go beyond the book with interactive games and hands-on instrument play to keep older kids engaged and moving. Join us for Toddler Story Time, an early literacy program where we share stories, songs, and rhymes! This program is for children ages 18 months to 3 years old and their caregivers.
Families with children age birth to 5, come try this free demonstration of Loblolly Music's Mommy and Me music class. We’ll sing, dance, play with instruments, and make new friends!
This program is for children ages 0-5 and their parent/caregiver. Registration is required and begins one week in advance.
Sunshine Baby Time is an early literacy program for babies up to 18 months and their caregivers. Please join us as we share early literacy tips, stories, songs, and fun!
In order to ensure the safety of our youngest patrons, this is a ticketed program. Free tickets will be available in the library on the morning of the program. First come, first served.
Promotes early literacy skills. The program features reading, singing, talking, writing and playing. We will help give you the resources you need to expand your child’s skills, preparing them to read. Recommended for children ages 2-5 years, it features age appropriate stories, songs, and fingerplays. Story time is an excellent way to bond with your child, boost their vocabulary, and hopefully raise a lifelong reader. Studies have shown that regularly reading to your child can increase their attention span, boost their emotional intelligence, and flex their imagination.
