"Born to Read" is a weekly story time filled with stories, songs, movement, interactive elements, and sensory play to promote early literacy development for babies and toddlers.
*Recommended for children ages 0-3 and their caregivers.
Do you love cartoons? Anime? Share your love of the animated art form at the library. Talk about your favorite media, share your fanworks, and explore different styles of animation.
The Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library will host five consecutive beginning Spanish classes for adults ages 18+. The instructor will introduce basic Spanish phrases, and the students will have a chance to speak the phrases. We will meet in the Baldwin Boettcher Branch meeting room.
Being Creative and crafty can be very therapeutic, and with all the stress in the world these days, we can use all the crafting therapy we can get!
Spin-a-Yarn is a crafting group that meets every Wednesday at 11 am in the study room of the Baldwin Boettcher Library. If you like to craft or create in any way, come join us with your own creative project for crafting and chatting fun!

Join us for our weekly after school STEAM club, and help us finish out the month with a Mythical Creature themed book discussion! Pick any book to read with a mythical creature character and come ready to share your love of reading with others. Book suggestions: Julia's House for Lost Creatures, Flare, The Fabled Stables, Impossible Creatures, Hex Vet, The Book of Mythical Beasts & Magical Creatures, etc.
The Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library hosts English classes for adults ages 18+ who are interested in learning to speak the English language or improve their English-speaking skills. We teach basic English grammar subjects and words that relate to basic life skills. The students have the opportunity to practice speaking the English language with other students.
Join us for a free class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. You must complete an English placement assessment to join the class. Taking this class will not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.
Celebrate with us Saturday, October 11th from 2 to 4 pm in the Baldwin Boettcher Library conference room with authentic Filipino food sponsored by Filipino American National Historical Society - Houston Chapter. There will also be background music, learning, and fun!
It will be hosted by Dr. Pinky, a Filipina American author and founder of Kuwento Co. A publishing company that in Filipino means "Story". She is also a Community Liason of FANHS-HTX. She will be guiding us in the history, and family search with a collaborative project we will all do together!
