Beginning in February, AARP will be offering free tax assistance to elderly and low-income individuals. AARP assistance will be available on Mondays and Fridays, on February 2 through February 13, from 9:30 AM-1:30 PM. They will be back on Friday, March 3 through Monday, April 13, from 9:30 AM-1:30 PM.
You are encouraged to show up half an hour early to sign up for a spot.
Seniors 55+ are invited to join the Maud Marks Library’s Timeless Travelers program for a trip to the Alvin Historical Museum and learn about Alvin-area history including exhibits on Nolan Ryan and war memorabilia from the Civil War to World War II as well as visit the Slover-Rogers Cottage. The bus will be departing on Tuesday, April 21, from 9:00 AM.

This orientation session will instruct participants on using the Cricut in the library. Those completing the class will then be able to schedule time to use a Cricut at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a Cricut. Attendees will receive the Cricut and Cricut Explore Air 2 badges in Beanstack upon completion of orientation.
