Join us every Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. for this engaging storytime designed for children ages 3–5. Through stories, rhymes, songs, and playful activities, children will build important early literacy skills such as oral language, phonological awareness, and print recognition.
After storytime, children can enjoy a simple craft or coloring activity to wrap up the fun. It’s a wonderful way to support early learning while making Storytime magical at the library!
Do you have a child in kindergarten through 3rd grade who loves stories—or one who could use a little extra reading support? Harris County Public Library’s Book Buddies is a FREE, fun-filled literacy program that pairs enthusiastic, trained teen volunteers (our amazing Big Buddies) with younger readers (Little Buddies) for 9 weeks of reading adventures!
Bring your broken items to our Repair Café, where various volunteer Repair Coaches are on hand to help repair your items free of charge!

Join us for our 3D Printer Orientation!
This orientation session will instruct participants on using the 3D printer in the library . Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use a 3D printer at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a 3D printer. Attendees will receive the 3D printer and Dremel 3D45 badges in Beanstack upon completion of orientation.
Join us for a free, 12-week class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. An English assessment must be taken for class admittance. Taking this class does not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.
Grades 2nd – 12th come to Maud Marks Thursday, November 12 to play chess. Coaches from First Checkmate will be present to offer advice, make decisions, and help improve your gameplay!

Those completing the class will then be able to schedule time to use the Fastfoto machines at HCPL branches and MakerCentral, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attendees will also receive the Fastfoto badge in Beanstack upon completion of orientation.
