Star Wars Reads is back for 2025! Join us for an afternoon packed with activities! Learn the ways of the Force with the Mustafar Saber Guild, practice your saber skills with virtual reality, shoot down battle droids, and make your own [pool noodle] lightsaber! And last but not least...enter your name for one of our grand prizes!
The Friends of the Library will also be setting up a sale table!
All ages are welcome to join the fun! Costumes encouraged!
Bring your own project to our monthly teen fiber arts group! Come to chat and work on your current project, get ideas for new projects, and be inspired by your fellow fiber artists. Whether it’s crochet, knitting, embroidery, cross stitch, or anything in between, if you can bring it with you, you can work on it. This program is open to ages 12-17, 18 if in high school. Take a break and enjoy doing a variety of jigsaw puzzles in the teen space! Work individually or with friends while you listen to music and put together puzzles. This program is open to ages 12-17, 18 if in high school.
Join us on the first and third Thursdays of the month at Inklings, our teen creative writing club. Bring your writing to share and get feedback from other teens. Come watch a movie in the teen space and eat delicious snacks! Movie rotates monthly; September's movie is Into the Spiderverse (Rating: PG) to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. This program is open to ages 12-17, 18 if in high school.
Get Creative with Cricut! This orientation session will introduce participants to Cricut machine capabilities, operation, and use. Completion of this orientation session is mandatory before patrons can schedule time to use the Cricut at Harris County Public Library.
