Harris County Public Library's Book Buddies is a FREE literacy program that pairs trained teen volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in K-3rd grade (Little Buddies) for 10 weeks to share the joy of reading. More information can be found on our website.
The next session for the South Houston Branch Library will run from September 8 - November 10, 2026. The Buddies will meet on Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM.

Book Buddies is a 10 week reading mentorship program where Big Buddies (teens) are paired with children grades K-3 to share in the joy of reading. All Big Buddies must be trained before they can participate.
